Our Commitment to Transparency

The 411 Foundation was built on trust — the same trust that powers the broader 411 ecosystem in Colorado Springs. We take that responsibility seriously.

We believe donors, community members, and those we serve deserve to know how decisions are made and how funds are used. Transparency isn't just good governance — it's how we honor the faith placed in us.

Annual Community Impact Report

Each year, the Foundation releases a public report summarizing:

  • How Funds Were Used Total contributions received and total funds disbursed across each program track
  • Types of Needs Addressed Categories of assistance rendered — housing, utilities, transportation, food, medical, and more
  • Community Impact Stories of impact (with permission and privacy protected) and aggregate outcomes
  • Priorities & Goals Our focus areas and objectives for the coming year

We never share names or identifying information about recipients. Dignity and privacy always come first.

Governance Safeguards

Our bylaws include specific protections to ensure ethical operation:

  • No Unilateral Spending No single person — including the Founder — can approve funds alone. All disbursements require Board oversight.
  • Conflict of Interest Policy Directors must disclose conflicts and recuse themselves from related decisions.
  • No Loans to Directors The Foundation cannot make loans to any Director or officer.
  • Protected Donor Intent Restricted funds are used only for their designated purpose. We never commingle funds.
  • Volunteer-Run (Currently) All Directors currently serve without compensation. Future paid roles will follow strict IRS-compliant guidelines.

Financial Oversight

The Foundation maintains rigorous financial controls:

  • Quarterly Treasurer Reports The Treasurer presents detailed financial reports to the Board at least quarterly.
  • Tracked Disbursements Every Speed-to-Need disbursement is recorded with amount, date, category, funding source, and Board voting record.
  • Annual Budget The Board adopts an annual budget allocating funds across program tracks.
  • IRS Compliance We file all required reports with the State of Colorado and the Internal Revenue Service.

Available Reports

Annual Impact Reports will be published here as they become available. The Foundation was recently established, so our first annual report is forthcoming.
